Children & Youth Activities

Prospect welcomes children and youth to fully participate in the life of our congregation. When we baptize children at Prospect we promise that we will support parents with the care and Christian upbringing of children and we take that promise very seriously! A safe and clean nursery is provided for babies and toddlers during both Sunday school and worship. Childcare is provided for preschoolers during the worship service.

Sunday Mornings
Age appropriate Bible study opportunities are available for all children from ages 2 years through high school on Sunday mornings from 10–10:45 in our educational building. We offer Godly Play for children ages 4 to 5th grade.

Sunday Evenings
Our Sunday evening program for K-12th graders meets from 5-6:30 pm and includes snacks as well as activities that involve our children and youth in music, worship leadership, service within our congregation, and mission in the world. Our youth serve on church committees and minister to members of our congregation by raking leaves, Christmas caroling, delivering fruit baskets, and
delivering tapes to our shut in members. We involve our youth in mission in our local community through a special service weekend held each fall and by serving meals at Mooresville Soup Kitchen. Last summer the group took a weeklong mission trip to Atlanta, Georgia where they built relationships with and served local people.  Fund raising projects throughout the year pay for these efforts.

Summer Camps
During the summer months we offer several special camps and programs: Vacation Bible School, Music & Arts Camp, youth Mission trip, and Camp Grier. We also provide fun day trips monthly for our children on Tuesdays and “Destination Unknown” adventures for our youth on Sunday Nights.
